At the Bench: Immunology

BIOL-UA 150

Lectures provide information about immune cells and their role in innate and adaptive immune responses; the function, structure, types, and development of antibodies and the mechanisms behind their effects; the mechanism of stress; and the role of cortisol and the nervous system in stress response. Laboratory sessions focus on immunological methods employing antibodies. Students collect and analyze data, carry out a research project, and develop the requisite skills for reading, presenting, and writing scientific papers.
